You may have noticed that our posts have two months in their titles, and that the timeline overlaps from one post to the next. January/February will be followed by February/March, which will be followed by March/April - and so on. This is because few women have reproductive systems which always start off on the first of the month and finish neatly just at the end. So far so good. But where, at the end of the day, does your cycle go?
Generally speaking, you should list your cycle so it starts after the beginning of the first month in the title, and finishes before the end of the second month.
Here are some examples to show you what I mean:
January/February post:
- IUI cycle starting on 2nd of January with beta on 30th of January
- IUI cycle starting on 14th of January with beta on 12th of February
- Long IVF cycle with downreg starting on 6th of January, stim cycle starting on 21st of January, and beta due 28th of February
February/March post:
- FET cycle starting 1st of February with beta on 28th of February
- Short IVF cycle starting on 10th of February with beta due 14th of March
- Long IVF cycle with downreg starting 20th of January, but with stim cycle starting 20th of February and beta due 27th of March
- Very slow OI cycle starting 2nd of February, with beta ideally in March, but which goes on and on and on until finally beta happens on the 17th of April, if not cancelled beforehand
These are general guidelines to help you find your way around. Don't stress too much, because although the cyclesista team do set out to hunt people down and harass their pets and aged grandmas when they put their cycles in the wrong places, we have a rather poor hit rate. So have fun!
